In the fall, I believe again in poetry

Fall colors are funny

Fall colors are funny

“Fall colors are funny. They’re so bright and intense and beautiful. It’s like nature is trying to fill you up with color, to saturate you so you can stockpile it before winter turns everything muted and dreary.” ― Siobhan Vivian

I am longing to be with you

I am longing to be with you,

“I am longing to be with you, and by the sea, where we can talk together freely and build our castles in the air.” ― Bram Stoker

“Every time I stand before a beautiful beach, its waves seem to whisper to me:
If you choose the simple things and find joy in nature’s simple treasures,
life and living need not be so hard.” ― Psyche Roxas-Mendoza

“A hard truth: that courage can be without meaning or impact, need not be rewarded, or even known. The world has not been made in that way. Perhaps, however, within the self there might come a resonance, the awareness of having done something difficult, of having done . . . something.”  ― Guy Gavriel Kay

If people did not love one another

If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant.

“If people did not love one another, I really don’t see what use there would be in having any spring.”  ―  Victor Hugo

Light within

People are like stained-glass windows.  They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within.  ~Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

Sunbeams awaken the delicate snowdrops

Am I too early?

“Beautiful Flower!” said the Sunbeams, “how graceful and delicate you are! You are the first, you are the only one! You are our love! You are the bell that rings out for summer, beautiful summer, over country and town. All the snow will melt; the cold winds will be driven away; we shall rule; all will become green, and then you will have companions, syringas, laburnums, and roses; but you are the first, so graceful, so delicate!”

That was a great pleasure. It seemed as if the air were singing and sounding, as if rays of light were piercing through the leaves and the stalks of the Flower. There it stood, so delicate and so easily broken, and yet so strong in its young beauty; it stood there in its white dress with the green stripes, and made a summer. But there was a long time yet to the summer-time. Clouds hid the sun, and bleak winds were blowing.

“You have come too early,” said Wind and Weather. “We have still the power, and you shall feel it, and give it up to us. You should have stayed quietly at home and not have run out to make a display of yourself. Your time is not come yet!”
Hans Christian Andersen

When I get lonely….

when i get lonely

own unfulfilled yearnings?

“When I get lonely these days, I think: So BE lonely, Liz. Learn your way around loneliness. Make a map of it. Sit with it, for once in your life. Welcome to the human experience. But never again use another person’s body or emotions as a scratching post for your own unfulfilled yearnings.”

― Elizabeth Gilbert, Eat, Pray, Love

Taking a late walk on a snowy evening

When I left for the walk, the weather was, as usual in these days, gray and snowy today and not only rainy for a change. The light is returning slowly after solstice and I’m glad I have a little more time before complete darkness sets in. The time before darkness has this special mood I like. You somehow come closer to yourself.

What do you see? Light or darkness?

Before the sun came through

Before the sun came through

As you move forward in your life you will also meet darkness, fear, loneliness. But despite of darkness more often than not you are given an opportunity to see light, confidence, knowingness. More often than not it is your choice to see light. You are not in need of solace. You are in need of a very own decision.

Colours of Light

Longing and waiting for the green and light days of Springtime

The springtime we all are waiting for now desperately.

The springtime we all are waiting for now desperately.

Waiting for the green and light days of Springtime

The light filtering through branches is a gorgeous sight … there is something ethereal about light at this time of spring. The springtime we all are waiting for now desperately.

Loving the Yellow Colour

Did you ever think about the intenseness of the yellow colour?

The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance.

Nothing defines humans better than their willingness to do irrational things in the pursuit of phenomenally unlikely payoffs. This is the principle behind lotteries, dating, and religion.

The nourishing light

Surrounded by the creative energy of light

Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you. ~Maori Proverb

The winter seems reluctant to leave this year, but by and by it is very slowly conquered. And we begin to enjoy the upcoming warmth of the sun and let the cold and shadows behind us.  With the change  from darkness to light we recognize that the same transition happens to the soul.
