In the fall, I believe again in poetry

Fall colors are funny

Fall colors are funny

“Fall colors are funny. They’re so bright and intense and beautiful. It’s like nature is trying to fill you up with color, to saturate you so you can stockpile it before winter turns everything muted and dreary.” ― Siobhan Vivian

There is something incredibly nostalgic and significant about the annual cascade of autumn leaves

“Spring passes and one remembers one’s innocence.
Summer passes and one remembers one’s exuberance.
Autumn passes and one remembers one’s reverence.
Winter passes and one remembers one’s perseverance.”
― Yoko Ono

Winter is leaving

“If I stayed here, something inside me would be lost forever—something I couldn’t afford to lose. It was like a vague dream, a burning, unfulfilled desire. The kind of dream people have only when they’re seventeen.”  ― Haruki Murakami

The way to better photos is long. How to succeed this journey? Learning the technical side of photography is the easy part. You spend the rest of your life learning how to employ those technical skills.

Der Weg zu besseren Fotos ist lang. Das ist eh klar. Was nicht so selbstverständlich ist: Wie kommt man dahin, bessere Fotos zu machen und wie hält man die Reise durch?

The wet Autumn is near

Leafy patterns cast a blurry silhouette against the backdrop of the sunset sky as the storm brews.

The wet Autumn has arrived today with plenty of wind and rain.

“Nothing in the world is more flexible and yielding than water. Yet when it attacks the firm and the strong, none can withstand it, because they have no way to change it. So the flexible overcome the adamant, the yielding overcome the forceful. Everyone knows this, but no one can do it.”

Find Peace by Looking at Beautiful Pictures of Nature

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Why is it that we find peace by looking at beautiful pictures of nature?

Watching a slideshow of beautiful pictures of nature reinforces my belief that we are part of something that is much bigger than ourselves. And that we are an important part of it. My favorite thought is “interconnectedness” which defines for me that we are connected to the beauty around us and that we are part of that beauty, that we are embeded in Dao. We can also find inspiration for our lives by looking around us and recognizing the lessons that natural change will teach us.

Living more in harmony with nature

How can we enjoy this magnificent season and gain new energy? Living more in harmony with nature? Eating lighter, cooking with less heat, cutting down on salt will help to detoxify our bodies and would be a good start. Doing some soft Qi Gong exercises outdoor and be surrounded by the green energy can help to relax and vitalize better.

The nourishing light

Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you. ~Maori Proverb

The winter seems reluctant to leave this year, but by and by it is very slowly conquered. And we begin to enjoy the upcoming warmth of the sun and let the cold and shadows behind us.  With the change  from darkness to light we recognize that the same transition happens to the soul.
